Brain and Head Injury
A brain injury can cause physical, behavioral, and mental changes in the injured person. Depending on what part of the brain is injured, speech, language, walking, balance, memory and cognitive impairment can result. Brain injury can result from direct trauma or impact to the head or it can result from hypoxia which is the lack of oxygen to the brain due to restricted breathing or lack of blood supply to the brain.

Paralysis is the loss of sensation and mobility. This can occur on the lower part of the body, known as paraplegia, or is can occur in both the lower and upper body, known as quadriplegia.
